Rick Cook, Mentor Pastor


Professor Rick Cook is an Associate Professor of Church History and Missions at Logos Evangelical Seminary. He earned his Ph.D. in Modern Chinese History at the University of Iowa, and he has also taught in Taiwan and at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago, IL.

He loves to swim, bike, and run, and he completed the 2006 Wisconsin Ironman. He is married to his wonderful wife, Pei Fang, and they have three adult children: Andy, Matt, and Leah.

Jaylenn Wong, Associate Pastor of Young Adult Fellowships


Jaylenn grew up in Duarte, California and graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in English. He also attended Talbot School of Theology and graduated with a Masters in Christian Apologetics.

He loves to play golf, read books, and catch fish. He married Emily in June 2017 and is a happy newlywed.

Andy kuo, Associate Pastor of Student Ministries


Andy grew up in Cincinnati and graduated from the University of Wisconsin—Madison. After working professionally, he moved to Pasadena to attend Fuller Theological Seminary with an emphasis in youth ministry. 

He is a huge extrovert and loves cats. A big Apple geek, he likes to hang out with youth, build websites, and debate the issue of free will vs. predestination.

Wendy Cheng, Children’s Ministry


Wendy has been serving in children’s ministries for many years and has one daughter.

Some memorable moments that inspire her to continue serving include when children wave at her with their warm greetings, come up to her and show her their missing tooth, or return to visit after having graduated.



Kåre is married to his sweetheart Lydia. His name and accent comes from Norway where he grew up, but he was born in Hong Kong where his parents worked for the Norwegian Seamen’s Mission. He has served as a deacon in the Evangelical Lutheran Free Church in Norway and was in charge of the Locker Room (Men’s Ministry) at HarvestLA.



“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, the old has gone, the new has come” 2 Corinthians 5:17. This is the verse that brought Yvette to Christ at 18 years old. Still thankful for her new life in Christ after 20+ years, she hopes to help coordinate gatherings where others are encouraged in their faith and there is genuine Christian concern for one another (Hebrews 10:25).

She married her sweetheart Dean, and they are parents to triplets: Caleb, Cole, and Charis.



Morris is blessed to be married to Elsa. They have two wonderful kids: Erica and Nicholas. Morris was baptized in 1980 at EFCLA, and he has been a member of EFCLA for over 30 years serving in numerous roles as Sunday school teacher, deacon and elder.

Before coming to Generations Church, Morris served as the Children’s Department elder for eight years at EFCLA. Fun fact: Morris is a self proclaimed Haka Warrior.


Henry Ting, Finance (Chair)

Henry graduated from UCLA and later obtained his MBA from Pepperdine. He spends his days working as a commercial insurance agency VP and is happily married to Alice and has two adult children.

For years, he served at EFCLA, a Taiwanese-based church, and HarvestLA, the English ministry within EFC. After 45 years, God has clearly called him to leave their comfort zone to start and serve at Generations Church LA.

Ted Chang, Missions


Ted is a mathematician by training with a career as an actuary. Has been a part of Bible Study Fellowship and its Chinese Translation Team. He has participated in mission organizations and has taught Christian Education classes since 2008.

Ted is happily married to Aileen, and they are blessed with four children.



Ken and Cindy were married at EFC Orange County in 1999 where they also attended during their newlywed year. In 2000, they moved to the SGV and attended EFCLA/HarvestLA. They have two children: Timothy and Tiffany.

At EFCLA, Ken led couples fellowship. In addition, he served as the Operations Deacon with responsibilities that included repainting the campus, re-striping the parking lot, obtaining bids for the remodeling of the Children’s classrooms and bathrooms, roof leak repairs, coordinating serving lunch, and monitoring facility general maintenance and repairs.



Daniel is a chaplain in the medical field, the last several years of which have been in hospice. He graduated from Talbot School of Theology with a Master’s of Divinity, worked in youth ministry for 16 years, and was ordained through the Southern Baptist Convention.

He enjoys serving God and the church through worship and started serving in the worship ministry at 16 years old. He is married to Yun-Lan, and they have two children, Josiah and Hannah.



Dick grew up in a Christian family with his four brothers in the Philippines. He started learning the guitar during his senior year of high school, and went on to lead worship in his college fellowship at UC Irvine and in churches ever since. He currently works full-time as a physician assistant in a family practice clinic in Alhambra. Dick also enjoys hiking, traveling, watching movies, and eating ice cream.

He has been attending GCLA with his wife, Stephanie, who also sings and plays the bass guitar. His favorite verse is found in Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”



Wade was born in a Christian family, reborn and baptized at ChungLi Baptist Church in 1982. He married Eunice in 1991 and they are blessed with two daughters, Deborah and Josephine.

An engineer by day and a David Gilmour wannabe by night, Wade is a self-proclaimed music junkie. He was a choir member in all the churches he ever attended. He also served on multiple EFCLA Mandarin congregation worship teams for many years.
