STAFF
Michael Kim, Lead Pastor
Pastor Mike is a Southern California native who is happily married to Jamie, and the Lord has blessed them with three amazing children. Mike earned his M.Div at Azusa Pacific University, and he was ordained by EFC in 2010.
When not focused on ministry, you may find him relaxing with his family, doing jigsaw puzzles, cheering for his favorite sports teams, or playing video games with his family. He is an avid Lakers fan, a UCLA Bruin at heart, and a loyal Rams fan.
Daniel wong, assistant pastor
Daniel has been serving in the worship ministry for 29 years. God started him on this amazing journey at 16 years old and opened the door to play the guitar, bass, and drums. Daniel loves worshipping God and wants the body of Christ to enter God's courts with praise and to taste and see that He is very good!
He is married to Yun-Lan, and they have two children.
chris schulz, ministry intern
Chris grew up in a Christian home but truly encountered Jesus and surrendered his life to Him during his time serving with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). He went on to serve with YWAM for 11 years, including two years in the Middle East, where his heart for the global Church and the presence of God was deeply shaped. Those years formed in him a deep passion for discipleship, missions, and seeing people walk confidently in their identity in Christ. Chris is currently pursuing his Master’s in Theology at Fuller Seminary, continuing to grow as a leader who faithfully teaches, equips, and shepherds God’s people.
rebecca schulz, ministry intern
Rebecca has followed Jesus since childhood, having been raised in a Christian home, but her faith has been marked by meaningful and personal encounters with the presence of God that have shaped her life and calling. Those moments cultivated in her a deep love for ministry and a desire to help others recognize and respond to God’s voice in their own lives. She served with YWAM for five years alongside Chris, bringing their daughter into that season of missions life. Rebecca carries a strong passion for children’s ministry and early childhood development, longing to see children encounter Jesus in age-appropriate, Spirit-led ways and grow with a secure and joyful foundation of faith.
CHURCH COUNCIL
Henry Ting, ELDER, Worship (Chair)
Henry came to a personal saving faith and was baptized at EFC in 1979. He’s been married to Alice since 1992, and is a proud father of two. Henry first served as a Deacon in Children Ministry, and then served as Elder for 4 terms (12 years) at EFCLA/HarvestLA. Henry is a VP/co-owner of an insurance agency in Alhambra, and co-owner of a motel in Santa Monica.
In 2008, Henry suffered a near-fatal accident where he fractured his neck and was left paralyzed, face down underwater. By God's grace, his son and his two 10 yr old friends, rescued him from drowning. Then God allowed him to heal and recover almost completely. During his recovery, he was called by God for a new purpose: After 45 years at EFCLA/HarvestLA, he was called to help plant Generations Church LA.
Morris Tien, ELDER, Missions
Morris is blessed to be married to Elsa. Morris was baptized in 1980 at EFCLA, and he has been a member of EFCLA for over 30 years serving in numerous roles as Sunday school teacher, deacon and elder.
Before coming to Generations Church, Morris served as the Children’s Department elder for eight years at EFCLA. Fun fact: Morris is a self proclaimed Haka Warrior.
Wendy Cheng, DEACON, Children’s Ministry
One day I was waiting for my daughter for her music lesson, this teenage girl walked to me and said “Do you remember me? I was in your Sunday School class.” That was the most rewarding moment for Sunday school teacher.
I enjoy moments like when they show me the missing tooth or tell me that their fish die. It is a privilege to be part of their faith journey and childhood memory (good or bad 😓).
Aileen Lam, DEACON, Finance
Aileen was saved by Christ in college in Hong Kong. She came to the U.S. to continue her education and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. She has been working as a licensed real estate broker since 1992. She and her husband, Ted Chang, have three sons and a daughter.
Tim Lau, DEACON, EQUIP
I was nine years old when I first attended a church in Chinatown LA. That was the first time I heard of Jesus, and I accepted the Lord the same year I came to GCLA in 2017 and was baptized in 2022. I enjoy attending Sunday School and studying the Bible with fellow brothers and sisters. This past year I served as the church’s independent auditor. Our family is very blessed to be part of the Generations Church family.
I have been married to Jessica for 20 years. We live in Glendora and have a son and a daughter. In my free time I enjoy watching sports and playing pickleball.
I’ve found Matthew 11:28-29 very comforting in my time of joys and hardships: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Sue Cheng, DEACON, Fellowship
I was invited to a Bible study in my junior year of high school. The Bible study was Genesis 1. Right after the study I asked God into my life.
I have been married to James for 32 years. We share two daughters, my son, and his daughter. My greatest "accomplishment" is all my three children are saved and have a personal relationship with Jesus.
Gloria Hsiao, DEACON, Care
Gloria was born in Japan and accepted Christ in high school. She met her husband Joseph in youth group, and they now have three children.
She graduated from UCI and has been a sales rep for a coffee company for 27 years. She loves checking out new restaurants, vacations, and swimming.
